“As we became aware, the investigation conducts an examination of the foreign passport of Serebrennikov, who was seized from him during the searches at the end of May of this year,” the agency’s interlocutor said. “We can talk about technical and forensic examination, the purpose of which is to establish the authenticity of the document.”

"These investigative actions are only an occasion to not let the director go abroad," the source believes.

Serebrennikov actively collaborates with foreign theaters. In early August, the director said that in September he should put in Stuttgart the opera Engelbert Humperdinka Genzel and Gretel.
