Activists from Alexei Navalny’s headquarters in Irkutsk received forty-four refusals to approve a picket at the Babr sculpture in the city center. Activists submitted notices of pickets from August 17 to September 1, for every day (except Sunday) from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. All this time it turned out to be supposedly busy. This was reported by Rosbalt with reference to the regional coordinator of Navalny’s headquarters, Sergei Bespalov.
“Today we were given 40 refusals, and typos were found in 4 applications. Simply put, someone’s pickets are constantly taking place at Babr,” said Sergei Bespalov.
Headquarters employees have repeatedly submitted applications to hold actions at the most popular point in the city among young people, but each time the activists have been refused approval. The administration assures that the site is already occupied. Not believing the coincidences, activists decided to test the sincerity of local administration officials.
