The attack in Barcelona injured more than a hundred people and killed 13, said the police in Catalonia.
Earlier it was reported about 80 victims.
- On August 17, a van drove onto the Rambla in the center of Barcelona and started hitting pedestrians. The crime was recognized as a terrorist attack. Islamic State terrorists claimed responsibility for the attack.
- The driver of the car managed to escape. Later it became known about the capture of two suspects in the city of Manleu, 80 kilometers from Barcelona. Another person allegedly involved in the attack (he broke through the police cordon in the vicinity of the Rambla) was killed by police in the suburbs of Barcelona.
- It was reported that one of the detainees was called Driss Oukabir, he lives in the city of Ripoll. The mayor of this city told reporters that Ukabir himself came to the police after the attack and said that his documents were stolen, and he himself was not in Barcelona at the time of the attack. In the theft of documents, according to the mayor, his brother is suspected. The police have not yet commented on these reports.
- In Spain, three days of mourning have been declared in connection with the attack.
