The new Russian airliner will be able to fly on two types of engines-the American Pratt & Whitney and the latest Russian PD-14 engine, which is developed by the UAC Corporation.

The head of the United Engine Corporation Alexander Artyukhov said that the development of PD-14 is under plan, the Russian certificate should be received in the second quarter of 2018. He also noted that for conducting bench and flight tests it is necessary to make 11 engines. At the moment, the 10th engine will be manufactured in September of this year.
The corporation is ready since 2019 to produce 30 MS-21 cars annually. To enter the planned volumes of 70 aircraft, it is necessary to resolve the issue with the acquisition of equipment, Demchenko also said.
“We are ready to produce 30 aircraft a year. Everything is clear here, and we know how to do it. But in terms of 70 aircraft per year - it is necessary to consider the issue of buying equipment, ”he said.
At the same time, he emphasized that production capacities allow you to reach such an indicator.
