A Lezginka dancer in Gelendzhik was summoned to the Investigative Committee

Khazir Akhkubekov, a resident of Kabardino-Balkaria, who served five days of arrest in Gelendzhik for lezginka, is summoned to the Investigative Committee. This was reported on August 18 by the "Caucasian Knot" with reference to Akhkubekov's father.

Akhkubekov Jr. was detained along with three other people on August 12 (earlier it was reported that the detention took place on August 13) when they were dancing lezginka. The policemen told them that lezginka was forbidden in Gelendzhik. During the arrest, the police sprayed pepper spray, which injured not only the dancers, but also the girl who was watching them. Later, young people got it from the arrived Cossacks.

Two people were later released, and two more, including Akhkubekov, were arrested for five days, Kavkazsky Uzel writes. They drew up protocols on petty hooliganism associated with disobedience to the lawful demands of police officers (part 2 of article 20.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). However, one of those arrested was released on August 15, the publication reports, emphasizing that this happened after a meeting of a delegation of Circassian activists with representatives of the Gelendzhik authorities.

While Khazir Akhkubekov was in the TDF, his parents were not allowed to see him .

The reason for the call to the Investigative Committee is still unknown. The "Caucasian Knot", referring to Khusein Akhkubekov, Khazir's father, reports that the arrested person was released from the detention center at midnight, after which the father and son could not leave, since Akhkubekov Jr. was summoned to the Investigative Committee and recommended not to leave Gelendzhik.
