© UnsoundOn August 25, the UNSOUND electronic music festival will present in Murmansk the DisLocation project.
The Murmansk Embent-Producer of Secret Negative with an atmospheric set created specifically for the Unsound Murmansk will open an evening program at the Aurora cinema.
The culmination will be the performance of the American project Nivhek (Liz Harris/ Grouper ) and the German artist MFO (Marcel Weber). They will present a joint work called "AFTER Its Own Death" , created during the residence of artists in Murmansk.
“Paradoxically minimalistic, simultaneously severe and fabulous work explores the Arctic landscapes, nostalgia and isolation of the Arctic embodied in the image and sound,” the organizers after the premiere in Murmansk will be represented at the UNSOUD festival in Krakow and at the Barbican London Center.
Local partners in the creation of the work were an independent curatorial organization from Murmansk Fridaymilk and the Inversia audiovisual festival.
Murmansk is one of the five cities that take part in the UNSOUND DISLOCATION 2017 program. The international project, aimed at expanding cultural ties between the cities of Eastern Europe and Central Asia, is also held this year in Kiev, Minsk, Alma-Ata and Kazan .
