In the Tver region, Navalny's supporters were detained for installing a cube

In Konakovo, on August 19, during an action with a campaign cube, activists from the campaign headquarters of Alexei Navalny were detained. This is reported by the portal "7 × 7" with reference to the coordinator of the Tver headquarters Andrei Prokudin.

Navalny's supporters are accused of organizing and holding a public event without notifying the local authorities (Article 20.2 Part 2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses).

The activists installed the cube on the square in front of the shopping center, which is located at 3 Torgovy Proezd. Prokudin said that during the installation of the cube, a police lieutenant colonel approached them and said that they were violating the law. The coordinator of the headquarters did not agree with him and recalled the decision of the government of the Tver region: holding events on this square does not need to be coordinated with the authorities. But neither the police nor the officials from the administration began to listen to the oppositionist and refused to get acquainted with the specific article and laws, copies of which were printed out from Prokudin.

First, the headquarters coordinator was detained. Later, another activist, Marfa Aksyonova, was taken to the police station in the Konakovo district. They were released after the protocols were drawn up, but they did not return the cube - they left it as material evidence.

In Toropets (Tver region), activist Svyatozar Minin was detained for a one-man picket against corruption, which he decided to hold without obtaining approval for the rally. Before he was taken to the police station, he stood for six minutes with a poster "Corruption steals the future" in front of the local administration building. In the department they took an explanatory note from him and then released him. Later, the activist found that his car had been doused with white paint.
