There is another person in Serebrennikov in the case - producer Voronova

In the case of fraud, the main accused of which is the director, artistic director of Gogol Center, Kirill Serebrennikov, among others, the theater producer Ekaterina Voronova appears. Medusa turned the first attention to this, referring to the publication of the Investigative Committee of the Director of the prosecution.

"He (Serebrennikov. - Ed.) Mounted him earlier than his acquaintances by Yu. Itin, A. Malobrodsky, E. Voronov, N. Maslyaev and other persons," the investigative department said. However, if the theater director Yuri Itina, producer Alexei Malobrodsky and accountant Nina Maslyaeva, had previously been charged with the case (the first of them was placed under house arrest, the other two were concluded in jail), then Voronov mentioned for the first time. At the same time, it was directly stated that it was involved in financial fraud, allegedly held in the Gogol Center.

Although Voronova did not fully disclose the name of Voronova, Medusa made the assumption that it was precisely Ekaterina Voronova who was one of the four executive producers of Serebrennikov’s play “Sleep on a Summer Night”, which was put in the Gogol Center in 2012.

Later, the head of the press service of the Investigative Committee of Svetlana Petrenko confirmed TASS that it was about the producer of Voronova. At the same time, the official said that the producer appears in the case for a long time, but she was hiding from the investigation and put on the wanted list.

Since May of this year, when it became known about the initiation of the case, Serebrennikov passed in the case a witness. At the same time, he was seized from the passport at the end of May.

However, in the morning, the TFR announced that the director was detained in St. Petersburg , where he was shooting the film, and delivered to the central headquarters of the department in Moscow. In the afternoon, Serebrennikov was charged under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code (fraud on an especially large scale), which provides for up to 10 years in the colony. He refused to admit guilt.

Further, the detainee was delivered to the IVS Ministry of Internal Affairs in Moscow on Petrovka, 38. For 12 hours of Wednesday, a hearing was appointed in the Basmann District Court of Moscow about choosing a preventive measure for the director.

According to the plot of the case, in 2011-2014, the Ministry of Culture allocated to Serebrennikov over 214 million rubles for the implementation of the Platform project, launched for the development and popularization of contemporary art. To embody the project, the director formed an autonomous non -profit organization "Seventh Studio".

However, the TFR, Malobrodsky, Voronova and Maslyaev continues, acting at the direction of Serebrennikov and Itin, during the preparation of plans for the events, the data on their quantity and value deliberately overstated. Also, the department claims, Serebrennikov instructed other defendants to ensure the conclusion of the Seventh Studio with firms and private entrepreneurs controlled by him, including one-day companies, and fictitious agreements for the implementation of the Platform project. The funds transferred under these agreements were allegedly cashed and distributed by Serebrennikov between the defendants.

The total amount of theft, which was charged to the director and other accused, is, according to the TFR, at least 68 million rubles.

Serebrennikov was charged on the basis of the testimony given by Maslyaeva - in the past chief accountant of the Seventh Studio - and her former subordinate Tatyana Zhirikova. They also testified against Malobrodsky. Zhirikova, as follows from the publications of the TFR, is not accused in the case.
