Barcelona football club has filed a lawsuit against its former player, the Brazilian Neymar. This is stated in the statement of the team.
The lawsuit was filed on 11 August. Barcelona claims are related to the violation of the terms of the contract, which the player extended for five years in 2016.
The club is demanding back the extension bonus paid to Neymar, compensation of 8.5 million euros and an additional 10 percent of this amount. The size of the bonus "Barcelona" did not name.
- In August, Neymar moved to PSG for a record 222 million euros. Such compensation was spelled out in his contract. The player himself bought out his contract, after which he moved to Paris. The deal is believed to have been financed by PSG owner Qatar Investment Authority. This was necessary in order not to violate the rules of financial fair play and not fall under UEFA sanctions.
- Neymar started playing for Barcelona in 2013, scoring 68 goals and 51 assists for the team. In his first two official matches for PSG, he scored two goals and provided five assists.
