Pioneer will show Israeli cinema

From September 17 to the Moscow cinema Pioneer, the XVI festival of Israeli cinema will be held.

“The festival will introduce the audience to modern life and the culture of Israel - a rapidly developing country at the crossroads of progress and sacred traditions, east and west, religiosity and freedom from conventions. - reports the site "Pioneer" . “In the center of the program - films about the national past, which unforeseenly responds and re -interpreted in the present, about the choice between personal paths and following family principles, about the war, peace and life during hostilities.”

The festival in the Summer Pioneer in Sokolniki Park the picture “Brake” will open, which received 11 nominations of the Israeli movie academy. The film will be presented by the director of Meni Yaish and the leading actor Maurice Cohen.

The remaining shows will be held in the Pioneer on Kutuzovsky. At the closure of the festival on September 17, director Emil Ben-shimon will present the painting “Women's Balcony”.

One of the main events of the festival will be a display of the restored version of the drama of Rafi Bukai “Avanti Popolo” (1986), which was part of the Berlinale-2017 program. Also in the program, one of the last festival hits is a film about the conflict of generations of “forest” Matan Yira, whose premiere took place this year at the Cannes Festival.
