The Government of Ukraine has developed a decree on a new entry into the country for citizens of Russia, Kommersant reports . To cross the border, you will need a biometric passport and a pre -filled electronic questionnaire on the website of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.

"In the questionnaire, a citizen of Russia will have to indicate data on himself, including the profession and place of work, as well as the exact goal of the trip and settlements that he plans to visit. In the future, it will be necessary to notify about his arrival in a month with the exception of such emergency cases as, for example, a disease or death of a relative," the source said. According to him, the questionnaire should be filled in Ukrainian or in English.

The decision on the new order of entry into the country for citizens of Russia will accept the Ukrainian government in the near future, possibly before September 1, notes the publication with reference to several sources in the government and in the Verkhovna Rada.

At the same time, the Ukrainian authorities refused to introduce a full -fledged visa regime in Russia, which was insisted by the secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Alexander Turchinov.

“The main reason why Kyiv did not introduce the visa regime, is concerns for Ukrainian citizens who remained in the Crimea,” explained Yuri Grymchak, deputy minister for temporarily occupied territories and internally displaced persons.

In February 2015, Ukraine tightened the rules of entry for Russians. They can only get to the country by passports, and they can be in the country for no more than 90 days within six months.

On June 12, the head of the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine Pavel Klimkin proposed to introduce a system of electronic registration of Russians trips.

On July 7, President Petro Poroshenko said that Ukraine will introduce biometric control for all foreigners entering the country, including the surrender of fingerprints and digital photography. "This will significantly strengthen the possibilities for combating terrorism," Poroshenko said.

On July 10, Turchinov said that Russians who want to visit Ukraine will have to notify the country's authorities in advance. "An electronic preliminary registration system for Russian citizens when traveling to Ukraine will be implemented," he said.

In addition, the National Security and Defense Council proposed to oblige Russian citizens who are in Ukraine to register at the place of stay and inform the authorities about their movements around the country. "Both biometric passports, and control at the border, and preliminary informing, and control over the stay and movement throughout Ukraine - all this should happen according to a single program, which should be developed by the Cabinet of Ministers," the National Security Secretary emphasized.
