Russian Ambassador to Sudan dies

Russian Ambassador to Sudan Mirgayas Shirinsky has died. This information was confirmed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.

Cause of death data is not yet available. The Arabic edition of RT stated that the ambassador had a heart attack.

Earlier, the message about the death of the ambassador was spread by the AFP agency. It reported that Shirinsky was found dead in the residence.

• Mirgayas Shirinsky became the Russian ambassador to Sudan in 2013. Prior to that, he was Ambassador to Rwanda for seven years. In the first half of the 1990s, he worked in Russian representations in Yemen and Saudi Arabia.
