"Match TV" lost in the court Sports.ru

On August 23, the Moscow City Court decided to satisfy the lawsuit of the Sports.ru sports portal against the federal sports television channel Match TV in connection with the illegal use of Sports.ru content.

According to Sports.ru , the court ordered Match TV to remove illegally placed content and compensate the state duty in the claim.

Representatives of Match TV argued that the texts of the authors used by the television channel are not subject to protection by law, since “they are not independent and original”, their “style is not individual” and they “lack personal intellectual contribution”.

In addition, one of the petitions of Match TV said that the channel is the “flagship of sports broadcasting”, “personifies the new face of sports in Russia”, “was created on behalf of Russian President V.V. Putin is also developing successfully, quickly responds to the requests of the main audience. ”

In April, Match TV asked Roskomnadzor to block Sports.ru for broadcasting the collections of interesting moments of matches of the Russian football league, but was refused. In May, the television channel filed a lawsuit for the same occasion.
