The landlord of Alexei Navalny's headquarters in Moscow breaks the contract

Leonid Volkov, the chief of staff of Russian presidential candidate Alexei Navalny, tweeted that the owner of the premises on Gilyarovsky Street, which now houses Navalny's headquarters in Moscow, sent a notice of early termination of the lease.

The landlord does not name specific reasons for terminating the contract, indicating only that he urgently needed the premises for his own needs.

As Volkov writes, the landlord demands to vacate the premises in a week, although under the terms of the lease agreement, Navalny's headquarters have two months to vacate the premises from the moment they receive the notification.

Finding premises for their headquarters in Moscow was not easy for supporters of Alexei Navalny. On June 3, the owner of the premises on Sadovnicheskaya Embankment changed in the same premises the locks at night, and on July 6, the police conducted a search . Volkov writes that "We were looking for headquarters on Gilyarovsky for two months, going through more than 50 options (and receiving more than 50 refusals)."
