In Tomsk, the police detained the opposition leader Henryk Kshivets. He reported this to the OVD-Info hotline.
Kshivets said that he and his friend were walking near the "White House" (the building of the administration of the Tomsk region). They were approached by the police, who, without explanation, detained the men and took them to the police station.
On July 31, the police detained the oppositionist during a walk. Law enforcement officers took Kshivets to the police station and released him an hour later without drawing up a protocol. The reason for the arrest was not explained to him.
In May, the opposition leader could not be found after the police took him away from a nursing home for the elderly and disabled. The police arrived after a resonant publication in the Tomsk newspaper about corruption in this nursing home and how food was stolen from the elderly.
