In Kaliningrad, in the early morning of August 26, the mother of Yuri Redkin, the former coordinator of the campaign headquarters of Alexei Navalny, was searched by FSB officers. This is reported by Open Russia according to Redkin himself.
The activist's mother said that he was "in some kind of organization." During the search, only a mask with a portrait of Kaliningrad Mayor Alexander Yaroshuk was seized. Redkin wore it to an environmental action on July 1, 2016.
The activist connects this search with his social activities. In addition to coordinating the work of Navalny's campaign headquarters, he was the chairman of the Kaliningrad branch of the Progress Party and organized an anti-corruption rally on March 26, 2017.
For the action on March 26, a protocol was drawn up against Redkin on violating the procedure for holding public events, but the Central District Court of Kaliningrad dismissed his case. The head of Police Department No. 3 filed an appeal, but in May the regional court upheld the decision to dismiss the case.
