The rector of the Russian State Humanitarian University has been fired

The Ministry of Education and Science interrupted a contract with the rector of the Russian State Humanitarian University (RSU) Evgeny Ivakhnenko, appointed for this post a year and a half ago.

“I confirm the dismissal by order of the Minister of Education, that is, the contract is interrupted,” Ivakhnenko told RBC . He did not talk about the reasons for dismissal.

The duties of the rector will be temporarily fulfilled by the director of the Historical and Archive Institute, the first vice-rector for the educational work of the Russian State University Alexander Bezborodov .

Evgeny Ivakhnenko, head of the Department of Social Philosophy of the RSUSU, was appointed rector in early March 2016, replacing Efim Pivovar, who headed the RSU since 2006 in this position. According to Interfax , a contract with a new rector was concluded for three years.

Evgeny Ivakhnenko graduated from the Kamyshinsky Higher Engineering Military School (1979) and the Faculty of Philosophy of Kyiv University (1988), Doctor of Philosophy. Since 2003, since 2007, he headed the Department of Social Philosophy of the Faculty of Philosophy.
