The Basmanny District Court of Moscow arrested the director of the Baltstroy company, Dmitry Sergeev, who is accused of creating a criminal community and fraud on an especially large scale during the construction of the presidential residence in Novo-Ogarevo, TASS reports .
The trial, at the request of the defense , was held behind closed doors: Sergeev’s side reported that they feared threats to the accused and his relatives. Sergeev was arrested for two months, until October 29.
Sergeev is accused under Part 1 of Article 210 of the Criminal Code (creation of a criminal community) and three crimes under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code (fraud on an especially large scale by an organized group).
The director of the Baltstroy company was detained on August 28 immediately after a meeting of the Kuibyshevsky court of St. Petersburg, which sentenced him to a suspended sentence for the theft of 72 million rubles in the “restoration case.” The publications wrote that Sergeev became a defendant in a new case of the theft of 225 million rubles allocated for construction at the presidential residence in Novo-Ogarevo.
The defendants in the case are the former head of the unitary enterprise of the federal security service Ateks Andrei Kaminov, the former general director of the Stroyfasad company Stanislav Kyuner, the director of Stroykomplekt Dmitry Torchinsky, as well as entrepreneurs Andrei Rodionov, Sergei Perevalov and Sergei Litvinov. The investigation considers these people to be a criminal community. All of them are under arrest.
Kuehner, Perevalov and Torchinsky admitted their guilt. Rodionov admitted partial guilt. Kaminov and Litvinov do not consider themselves guilty. Kommersant wrote that Kuehner and Torchinsky entered into pre-trial agreements. The newspaper believes that it was from their testimony that the investigation established Sergeev’s involvement in the thefts.
