The Ministry of Defense transferred the section of Bolshaya Nevka next to the cruiser Aurora

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation received for use for 20 years a section of the Bolshaya Nevka water area in St. Petersburg, located opposite the Aurora cruiser. The corresponding government order was published on August 29.

The department can use the site "exclusively to ensure the defense of the country and the security of the state." How exactly the site will be used is not stated in the order; there is no information about this in other sources.

The plot area is 9800 square meters.

• The cruiser Aurora, which houses the museum, stands on the pier near Petrogradskaya Embankment. Next to the cruiser is the Nakhimov Naval School.
• On the opposite bank of the Bolshaya Nevka, next to the site transferred to the military department, there is the Kirov Military Medical Academy of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
