The Moscow City Court approved the extension of the probationary period for Alexei Navalny

The Moscow City Court approved the decision of the Simonovsky Court to extend the probationary period of Alexei Navalny in the Yves-Rocher case for 1 year. It is reported by Interfax.

Thus, the appeal of Navalny's defense against the decision of the Simonovsky Court of August 4 was rejected.

In July, the Federal Penitentiary Service sent a motion to extend the probationary period to Navalny due to an administrative offense at a rally on June 12. Then he was found guilty under part 8 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (repeated violation of the organization of holding rallies).

Earlier, the department issued a warning to Navalny to cancel the suspended sentence in the case of Kirovles and Yves Rocher.

On July 11, it was reported that the Federal Penitentiary Service asked to replace Navalny's term from conditional to real. On the same day, the department stated that it did not go to court.

On December 30, 2014, the Navalny brothers were convicted in the Yves Rocher case. They were accused of fraud and money laundering on a large scale. Aleksey received 3.5 years of probation with a five-year probationary period, while Oleg received a real term.

According to Alexei Navalny, the usual commercial activities that his brother performed were declared fraud, and the oppositionist himself has nothing to do with the case.
