The new rector of the RSUGU has already become old

The former rector of the Russian State Humanitarian University (RSU) Evgeny Ivakhnenko said that his dismissal is related to the claims of the Ministry of Education of the “property nature”. Recall that Evgeny Ivakhnenko, who previously held the post of head of the Department of Social Philosophy, was appointed rector of the Russian State Humanitarian University on March 3, 2016. He was recommended to appoint a scientific council of the university to the rector’s position. Since 2006 Ivakhnenko, Efim Pivovar, who left his post, headed the university since 2006. Moreover, voting in the scientific council was associated with the scandal. In February 2016, Facebook published a letter to the director of the Institute of Philology and the History of the Russian State Humanitarian University Pavel Kakarekov, which stated that the officials of the Ministry of Education and Science called on members of the academic council against the candidate, member of the United Russia party Andrei Khazin.

Dmitry Livanov, who then held the post of Minister of Education, said that the new rector will have to consolidate the team and, together with the scientists of the RSUSU, develop a development program for the next five years. But after Ivakhnenko, leading teachers, only 12 people went to the post from the Vygotsky Institute of Psychology named after the Vygotsky RSU, they said that their departure was connected with the personnel policy of the new rector, Ivakhnenko was going to optimize the staff of the institute in order to save money.

Be that as it may, as rector, Yevgeny Ivakhnenko, lasted a little over a year. According to him, the resignation decision was made on Monday, August 28. “I was called and announced this,” he explained. “Now the election procedure for the Rector of the Russian State University should be launched.”

Speaking about the claims of the Ministry of Education and Science, the ex-director specified that they concerned the "use of our areas and interaction with branches, courts." True, he did not say what areas and branches are talking about.

According to Ivakhnenko himself, during his work, the rector of the university “finances, monitoring and other areas” improved. “Before that, for example, three years have not been paid vacation pay,” he said.

What Ivakhnenko will do after dismissal, he does not know: “I am so far in some confusion. I always liked the teaching work. ”

Prior to summing up the elections of the new rector, Ivakhnenko will replace the director of the Historical and Archive Institute, the first vice-rector for the educational work of the Russian State University Alexander Bezborodov.

Recall that the RSUSU is one of the largest humanitarian institutions in the country. It was organized in 1991 on the basis of the Moscow Historical and Archive Institute. Now more than 10 thousand students study at the university.
