Russian violinist Dmitry Kogan died in Moscow at the age of 38. This was reported by TASS as an assistant to the musician Zhanna Prokofiev. A source surrounded by a musician said that the cause of death was an oncological disease.
Kogan was born in Moscow in a famous musical family. His grandfather is the violinist Leonid Kogan, grandmother is the violinist and teacher Elizabeth Gilels, father is the conductor Pavel Kogan, and his mother is the pianist Lyubov Kazinskaya. In 2010, Kogan was awarded the title of Honored Artist of Russia.
