In Volgograd, an investigator promised to detain the coordinator of the local headquarters of Alexei Navalny, Alexei Volkov, at the airport when he arrived in the city. He told Volkov's lawyer about this, according to the headquarters group on Vkontakte.
“According to the investigation, Aleksey violated his travel ban. On Monday, he was notified that the investigation was over. Earlier, he filed a petition with a request to let him go to Moscow. The investigator gave oral consent (the code of criminal procedure does not establish a mandatory written form),” the report says.
Volkov is charged under Part 3 of Art. 354.1 (“public desecration of the symbol of Russian military glory”). As desecration, the investigation interprets the publication on the Internet of a picture in which the monument "Motherland" seems to be doused with green paint.
