Irkutsk aircraft factory will unite with two companies

The United Aircraft Corporation will carry out the largest reform of the industry. Personnel rearrangements and a change in the control circuit of the aviation industry are coming. Irkut Corporation is concentrated in the production of civilian aircraft.

Kommersant writes about reform with reference to several top managers of enterprises, as well as sources in the government. We are talking about the unification of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), Irkuta and Sukhoi Civil aircraft (GSS).

The new structure will combine the functions of both the Corporate Center of the “Unified Operational Holding”, as well as the function of managing civilian programs of the UAC. In 2016, the OAC board of directors decided to form four divisions: civil, military, transport and strategic.

In the context of a reduction in the state defense order, the government relies on the development of a civil segment, which in its volume "is not inferior to military programs." True, the civilian component of the UAC is not a trouble -free, notes the publication. Thus, the average seamage MS-21 has not yet been launched into serial production, and the supply of near-hydraulic SSJ 100 encounters difficulties. Several sources of Kommersant note that the UAC took as a basis the Airbus concern model: “European experience turned out to be successful - the management levels were reduced, costs were optimized.”

The source of the newspaper, close to the UAC, says that in the existing form the corporation did not have enough funds for the development of “disparate companies and structures”. The industry expects that the savings from such a transformation will amount to about 50 billion rubles.

The reorganization will affect a number of UAC projects: for example, by 2022 Irkut will actually move away from the implementation of military programs, concentrating exclusively in the production of MS-21 type aircraft. SSJ 100 aircraft will become part of the MS-21 family. According to the newspaper, now in the UAC and the government the question of creating a new aircraft based on SSJ 100-for 130 passengers with a share of localization of at least 80% and taking into account the technical solutions used in MS-21 (for example, installing the composite wing). The alleged name is MS-21-100. The production of multifunctional Su-30CM fighters by 2022 will be almost completed.
