The Circassian activist Gvashev was re -fined for a prayer service on the day of memory of the Adygs

Sochi Lazarevsky District Court, having repeatedly examined the protocol drawn up on the Circassian activist Ruslan Gvashev for a prayer service on the day of memory of the Circassians, again fined him for 10 thousand rubles. This was reported on Wednesday by the "Caucasian Knot".

As follows from the publication, the 67-year-old Gvashev was announced guilty under Part 1 of Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (violation by the organizer of the public event of the procedure for its holding).

Activist’s lawyer Marina Dubrovina timely notified the judge of her departure and asked to postpone the hearing. However, this petition was rejected at the meeting - the judge provided Gvashev as a lawyer for their intended purpose and gave the defender for 15 minutes to get acquainted with the case. At the same time, having talked on the phone with Dubrovina, the appointed lawyer said that he refused to represent the interests of the activist, since he already has a lawyer, and directly accused the judge of violating the right to defense.

In addition to Gvashev himself at the hearing was the district police officer from the Golovinka microdistrict (Shehap), who fabricated the protocol on the activist. He admitted that he had not committed the offense, and he was ordered to issue a protocol as a chief and curator from the FSB.

However, the judge ignored all these arguments.

Only 21 of them were able to support Gvashev in the court, but only 21 of them were able to fit.

Dubrovina’s lawyer assured the “Caucasian Knot” that upon returning, appealing a repeated decision on a fine.

On May 21, 1864, the last Circassian detachment capitulated to the Russians in the Krasnaya Polyana tract (the current Krasnaya Polyana). Meanwhile, for the Circassians, the Russian conquest entailed catastrophic consequences - the huge percentage of local residents was expelled from their lands to Turkey. In the early 1990s, first in Kabardino-Balkaria, and then in Adyghe, the actions of the conquerors were officially declared genocide. From foreign states, Circassian genocide is recognized by Georgia. The anniversary of the surrender in the KBAAD of Circassians (Adygs) is celebrated as a day of memory.

This year, about 300 people from different cities of Russia traditionally gathered in Golovinka. Gvashev read Dua (prayer in free form) in the Adyghe language and made a small speech.

The police and operatives of the FSB who watched the action did not make any complaints to the activist. However, 10 days later, on May 31, Gvashev reported that a protocol had been drawn up for it.

On June 2, the Lazarevsky District Court fined the activist for the same 10 thousand rubles. At the meeting of Gvashev was taken forcibly in a state of hypertensive crisis. At the same time, the activist who has an amputated leg had to go up on the stairs to the upper floor: in the court building there is no device for disabled people.

During the hearing, Gvashev became ill. Doctors who arrived on the ambulance insisted on urgent hospitalization of the activist, but the judge refused to transfer the meeting.

Meanwhile, on August 2, the Krasnodar Regional Kraisud canceled the decree on a fine due to multiple violations and returned the protocol for re-consideration. Gvashev personally appeared at the hearing, despite the fact that in July he suffered a heart attack and heart surgery.

Gvashev stood at the origins of the Circassian national movement. In 1988, he headed the initiative group to create a Hase Capsups of the Black Sea region (chapsugi - one of the Circassian sub -ethnic groups; Hase - Council), and in 1989 participated in the organization of the Confederation of the Mountains of the Caucasus.

In 1992-1993 he participated in the Georgian-Abkhaz war on the side of the separatists. Has the title of Colonel of the Abkhaz army; He was awarded the medal "For Courage".

In the same year he was arrested for 10 days in Nalchik for holding rallies against the war in Chechnya. He held a hunger strike.
