The coordinator of Navalny's headquarters in Volgograd was sent under house arrest for a picture with “Motherland” in greenery

The Central District Court of Volgograd placed under house arrest the coordinator of the local headquarters of politician Alexei Navalny, Alexei Volkov, accused of rehabilitating Nazism due to the publication of a picture with the Motherland monument in greenery, Volkov himself reported on Twitter.

At the end of July, Volkov was charged under Article 354.1 of the Criminal Code (rehabilitation of Nazism). According to investigators, he publicly desecrated the symbol of military glory by publishing a picture depicting a monument with a face stained with brilliant green.

Volkov’s lawyer The day before, an investigator called and promised to detain the activist when he arrived at Volgograd airport, because he had violated his recognizance not to leave. Navalny’s ally himself says that the investigator verbally allowed him to go to Moscow.
