The coordinator of Navalny's local headquarters, accused of rehabilitating Nazism, was detained in Volgograd.

An investigator detained at the Volgograd airport the coordinator of Navalny’s local headquarters, Alexei Volkov, accused of rehabilitating Nazism due to the publication of a picture of “Motherland” in brilliant green, Volkov himself wrote on his Twitter.

Now the activist is going to the Central District Court, where the investigation is petitioning to change his punishment.

The day before, the investigator called Volkov’s lawyer and promised to detain the coordinator when he arrived at Volgograd airport, because he had violated his recognizance not to leave. According to the activist, the investigator verbally allowed him to go to Moscow.

At the end of July, Volkov was charged under Article 354.1 of the Criminal Code (rehabilitation of Nazism). According to investigators, the activist publicly desecrated the symbol of military glory by publishing a picture depicting the Motherland monument with a face stained with brilliant green.
