Ministry of Internal Affairs: billionaire Dzhabrailov was not given an award pistol

The Ministry of Internal Affairs did not issue billionaire Umar Dzhabrailov, who was detained for shooting in a Moscow hotel, an award pistol, told TASS. Yuri Titov, head of the press service of the department's capital department,

“The decision to award a citizen with an award weapon was not made by the internal affairs bodies; in the Moscow Main Internal Affairs Directorate in 2008, in accordance with the established procedure, only a permit for the right to store and carry the specified pistol was issued,” he said.

Dzhabrailov was detained for shooting at the Four Seasons Hotel the day before. In connection with the shooting, a case was opened under Article 213 of the Criminal Code (hooliganism). Initially, the Ministry of Internal Affairs said that the shooting was carried out from an award pistol. After interrogation, Dzhabrailov was released on his own recognizance. He himself told investigators that he was “checking” the award weapon.
