In Chuvashia, a blogger who recorded violations was beaten at a polling station

On August 30, in Novocheboksarsk (Chuvashia), at a polling station where early voting took place in by-elections to the city municipality, blogger Konstantin Ishutov, who recorded violations, was beaten. This was reported on August 31 by the 7 × 7 portal with reference to the blogger himself.

According to Ishutov, he arrived at the polling station at the request of a candidate for the municipality, Darya Komarova, whose authorized representative he is. At the polling station, they saw how “state employees were pouring in crowds in order to vote early, while they had no reason to vote early,” the portal quotes the blogger as saying. Ishutov claims that there were no voting booths or screens at the polling station, “there was no polling station working hours, there were no addresses at which people voted, people entered the polling station using some kind of password.” In addition, the chairman of the CEC of Chuvashia and the city manager of Novocheboksarsk were at the site at that time.

Ishutov, together with Komarov, collected confessions on camera from those who voted (for this they introduced themselves as employees of the administration). Then the blogger turned to the policeman with a request to take a statement about the crime. He refused. Komarova and Ishutov called the police and asked to call the task force, which arrived two and a half hours later, but refused to do anything. When Ishutov announced that he would not leave until a new task force arrived and recorded the crime, he, in his words, “began to be squeezed out of the precinct.” The policeman ran into the blogger with his fists, hit him and threw him on the concrete floor, and broke the camera. “Another policeman, who saw everything and smiled, mockingly offered to take my statement,” Ishutov was quoted as saying by the portal.

Ishutov called an ambulance, he had a suspicion of a fracture, which was not confirmed. The blogger wrote a statement addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic.
