The coordinator of the headquarters of Navalny was arrested in Volgograd

The court in Volgograd sent Alexei Volkov under house arrest, the coordinator of the local staff of the politician Alexei Navalny. The reason for changing the preventive measure was that Volkov, being under the recognizance not to leave, left Volgograd. He was detained earlier on Thursday at the airport of the city.

Volkov is accused of rehabilitation of Nazism due to the publication of the picture in which the face of the Motherland Monument, using the photo filter, is painted green. The maximum punishment under this article is imprisonment of up to three years. Volkov refused to testify.

On March 24, during the opening of Navalny’s headquarters in Volgograd, a brawl occurred due to this photo. A criminal case was later opened. On May 12, Volkov was a search. In June, investigators said that the picture allegedly published from devices belonging to the activist.
