I personally condemn Khamatov is not inclined. And not even because I really love her work. But because she, as a normal person, showed a normal human reaction. Politicized people (to whom I relate) can fantasize as much as the importance of rallying the people before the threat of that, but life shows that no rallying occurs until the fried cock really pecks. People are uneatered, which make up the majority in any society, always want to maintain the usual way of life for the long time, calmly work, raise children, and engage in creativity. And they react hard to the challenges of the political system only when the threat approaches them directly.
Fifteen years ago, when I wrote the book “European Modernization” and studied the behavior of the Poles during the martial law of the 1980s, a curious assessment made by an eyewitness caught my eye. He noted that the Poles, who had recently actively supported the opposition “solidarity”, now for the most part have not sought to overthrow the communist regime. They hid under pressure from force and tried to use the economic concessions that they provided to raise personal well -being. To work, earn, make your small allowed business now. But soon it turned out that you could not get out of the political system alone. She rushes after you. It does not give rest. Removing money. Sometimes freedom. And sometimes life.
