The Investigative Committee did not initiate a case against the head of Navalny’s headquarters for creating a computer virus

In Krasnoyarsk, the investigator refused to initiate a criminal case on the creation of a computer virus against Leonid Volkov, the head of the federal headquarters of Alexei Navalny. Volkov writes about this on his Twitter. All seized equipment was returned to headquarters.

The coordinator of the Krasnoyarsk headquarters of Navalny Ruslan Rudenko told Mediazone that the materials on the basis of which the decision was made to refuse to initiate proceedings were “a text listing the hardware of seized laptops, viruses / trojans found on them with the help of Kaspersky and Doctor Web, and "counterfeit software".

In Navalny's Krasnoyarsk headquarters on July 12, police seized all computer equipment. The search took place as part of the criminal case against Volkov. He was charged with violating Art. 273 of the Criminal Code (creation of a computer virus) and Art. 146 of the Criminal Code (copyright infringement).
