But they still oppose the Matilda movie.
The leader of the Orthodox social movement “Forty Forties” Andrei Kormukhin offered to help ensure the safety of director Alexei Uchitel after the attack on his studio in St. Petersburg.
The incident with Mr. Teacher's studio is a provocation designed to denigrate believers who are rightfully protesting against his film "Matilda." For us, the commandment “thou shalt not kill” is unshakable. Only in the sick head of an atheist provocateur could such a plan arise.

Kormukhin added that members of the movement are ready to help law enforcement agencies find the attackers. According to him, not a single Orthodox Christian will set fire to a building with Molotov cocktails, knowing that there are innocent people in it.
The leader of the Orthodox movement emphasized that he will continue to oppose “Matilda,” which “offends believers and the memory of the holy royal passion-bearers.”
Despite this, he proposed, for security reasons, to assign one of the movement participants, many of whom are professional athletes, to the Teacher. Kormukhin believes that they will want to “even more radicalize” the situation in connection with the release of Matilda, to the point of causing physical harm to the Teacher.
On the night of August 31, unknown persons tried to set fire to Alexei Uchitel's studio in St. Petersburg by throwing bottles of Molotov cocktails at it. The wooden hall was saved by the fact that the windows inside were blocked with bricks - this ensures silence when recording sound for films. The Ministry of Internal Affairs opened a criminal case for hooliganism (Part 2 of Article 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
On August 10, Alexei Uchitel’s film “Matilda,” about the romance between Nicholas II and the ballerina Matilda Kshesinskaya, was allowed to be released throughout Russia, despite criticism, as well as appeals from the authorities of Dagestan and Chechnya to the Ministry of Culture with a request to ban the showing of a film allegedly offensive to the feelings of believers on the territory of the republics.
