The attack on the cinema in Yekaterinburg is not recognized as a terrorist attack

A 39-year-old resident of the city of Irbit in a UAZ car rammed the Kosmos cinema in Yekaterinburg, RIA Novosti reports . There were no casualties. The man who attacked the cinema first fled the scene, but later sought medical help (he received numerous burns), after which he was detained. Presumably, the man was registered with a psychiatrist. A criminal case was opened under the article "intentional damage to another's property by arson."

According to Znak , the attacker, Denis Murashov, has been on the wanted list since 2015 as having “lost contact with his relatives.” Acquired shortly before the attack on the UAZ cinema, he stuffed it with gas cylinders and canisters of gasoline. There was also information that in this way the arsonist protested against the possible screening of Alexei Uchitel's film "Matilda" in the cinema.

Recall that on August 19 in Surgut, a man attacked passers-by on the street, first with an ax, then with a knife, after which he was shot dead by a police officer . The attacker managed to injure eight people. This event was not recognized as a terrorist attack, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs also disseminated information that the perpetrator was registered with a psychiatrist. Responsibility for what happened then took on the group ISIS*, banned in the territory of the Russian Federation.
