Chinese President Xi Jinping announced at the meeting that China is ready to create an exchange program in the field of trade and technical cooperation within the BRICS for an initial amount of 500 million yuan ($76.4 million), as well as contribute $4 million to finance projects through the New Development Bank. .

Meanwhile, one of the core topics of the summit, as Russian Presidential Assistant Yuri Ushakov made clear, will be the situation around the DPRK, which does not want to give up testing missile weapons. According to Ushakov, after Pyongyang recently tested a hydrogen bomb, the relevance of the issue has increased. Earlier, even before the start of the BRICS summit, Ushakov spoke about the “road map” prepared by Russia and China to resolve the situation around North Korea.
