At the same time, almost half of the respondents, 49 percent, spoke out for the completion of the operation.

Over the past year, the attention of Russians has decreased to events in Syria. Now every fourth respondent knows nothing about the latest events in this country. A year ago, there were 18 percent of them, and during the start of the operation, only every tenth did not know about it. The situation in Syria is closely monitored by 18 percent of the respondents. It is among them that the highest support for the continuation of the Russian operation is 59 percent.

The fact that military interference in the Syrian conflict can develop for Russia into "New Afghanistan" is afraid of 32 percent of respondents, and 4 percent consider this to be inevitable. Among the well -informed respondents, this figure increases to 10 percent.

The Russian military operation in Syria began in October 2015. On Monday, it became known that two Russian troops died in the Syrian province of Deir ez-Zor after a mortar shelling by the militants of the Islamic State. Thus, the official number of dead Russian military dead during the Syrian campaign increased to 34.
