After the next nuclear test of Pyongyan, the naval forces of South Korea conducted large-scale exercises in the Japanese Sea in order to demonstrate "their determination to confront provocations by the DPRK." This was reported by Yonhap . Meanwhile, it became known that North Korea is preparing for a new launch of a ballistic missile.

The exercises were aimed at improving the strategy of instant response of the South Korean military to provocations in the sea from the enemy, the Navy said. “If the enemy provokes us on the water or under water, we will immediately deliver a response and bury it in the sea,” said the army representative.

The Gangwon frigate, a patrol ship, several missile carriers and high -speed ships took part in the maneuvers. During the exercises, combat shells were used.

The Navy of South Korea also stated that in the near future they plan to conduct exercises with the participation of the CN-235 transport aircraft and F-15K fighters. On Thursday and Friday, similar joint sea maneuvers of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Korea and the United States will be held. Earlier it was reported that the South Korean military worked out fighting using ballistic missiles.

The DPRK last Sunday announced a successful test of a hydrogen bomb at an underground nuclear training ground. As noted in Pyongyang, the test was carried out with the aim of studying and confirming the accuracy and reliability of technology for adjusting the power and design methods that were invented during the production of hydrogen charges intended for installation on intercontinental ballistic missiles. The Ministry of Defense of Japan estimated the capacity of a tested charge of 70 kilotons.

The test caused a strict reaction of the international community. In particular, US President Donald Trump during a telephone conversation with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe announced his readiness if necessary to use nuclear weapons against the DPRK.

Meanwhile, according to Seoul, the DPRK began transporting a ballistic missile on the western coast of the country for the next launch towards the Pacific Ocean. This was reported by the South Korean newspaper Asia Business Daily with reference to sources in the country's intelligence.

It is noted that the movement of the rocket occurs mainly at night. According to the publication, the tests can be carried out on September 9 on the occasion of the national holiday - the day of the foundation of the republic.

The day before, it became known that the National Intelligence Service of South Korea prepared a report that states that the South Korean military found signs of preparation of the DPRK for the next missile launches, TASS notes. The department also did not exclude tests of the intercontinental ballistic missile.
