The coordinator of Alexei Navalny's headquarters in Murmansk, Violetta Grudina, was summoned to the police to give explanations about the action held on August 12 in the local Hyde Park. The summons states that Grudin is accused of violating the rules for holding the rally (Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses), the case was initiated on August 25. Grudina told OVD-Info about this by phone.
The action in Hyde Park took place on August 12, 5-7 volunteers set up a campaign cube and handed out newspapers. According to Russian law, public events can be held on the territory of Hyde Parks without prior notice.
On August 18, Violetta Grudin was already charged with an administrative offense for distributing newspapers. On July 7, the activist was summoned to the police to give explanations about the propaganda newspapers confiscated from the cargo carrier.
