The history of Lenin's pedestrian street does not end. They ask me what will happen, what I think about it? I'll try to concentrate my vision of the situation.
I just want our city to develop, so that it be comfortable for its inhabitants and attractive for tourists.
Among other things, this function would be performed by a pedestrian street - a street for unhurried walks. And not between the trees of the park, which is also fine. But among the sights of the city. Everyone, absolutely every house on the site of Kuznetskaya Street from Novobazarny Square to Mikhailovsky Log, is full of sights, both now existing and leaving more than a hundred years deep. Lent to read yourself, go on an excursion.
135869 European future
As a supporter of civil society, I am most interested in ensuring that no rights are infringed. “The happiness of the whole world is not worth one tears on the cheek of an innocent child,” probably everyone heard. Although, maybe not everyone agrees. So let's talk, not scream. To object, offer. No need to lie, distort and come up.
In our power and in our common interests, making our city cleaner, better, more comfortable. And it turns out that one side does something, is mistaken, changes, and the other only sprinkles and gloating. Although, here I have already summarized. Not all. Being on Lenin almost every weekend, conducting excursions there or telling about the city, I see so many residents of the street that I know. And I see that they are happy to walk, and more than once. Many come to me, we are calmly talking, people like it.
So, nevertheless, do the street need affordable entrances to the yards, end parking, landscaping, stationary toilets, police post at the Universe, observing the hours of silence and much more? Or let everything remain as it was?
And, despite all the naivety, I will repeat: we will still be proud that we have such a pedestrian street.
What I think about the experiment of this year and what are my suggestions
What they decided to do in this format was not bad. I believed that the pedestrian for the weekend would not “take off”.
Approach. We must start with this. According to this year, it was done quickly, they sorted it out along the way. Now is the time to take stock and, having created a new organizational structure, prepare the next year in the winter. Given the project of KB Strelka and Tatyana Ivanenko - Lenina Street will be pedestrian in the future only at the weekend, since the carriageway remained in the project. So, we take pedestrian only on the weekend.
Initially, I believed that eventfulness is not what would make her pedestrian. Yes, events are needed. But there should be quiet "everyday life". When on the street you can just stay among people, chat. Do not be a spectator, a listener, but simply is. For this, you do not need music, interactives, and so on.
The creation of a pedestrian space is a point of intersection of interests, the process should go with the expanded composition of the organizers
We will call this organizing committee “The Club of Friends of Lenin Street” (the idea is not mine). Registered legal entity. Eight people should include the club: three from local residents, two from business, one from the municipality, two representatives of the public. This "club" should develop the concept of filling the pedestrian space for the weekend of 2018. Of course, the activities of such an organizing committee will have to be spent, as in some organizational points: clining, ceilings, and so on. Black businessmen - local business should form such a budget. I believe that it is quite possible for them.
It is this organizing committee that must form the requirements for the design, ensuring security, etc..
Benefits to local residents
135346 Convenient route for pedestrians
And not just to demand, but to offer specific solutions. Should the street be pedestrian? Then you need to do this and that.
The benefits of the municipality
Such a “club” will take over the majority of reputation risks in relation to citizens and the media.
Of course, such a club will more quickly solve all issues, because it will be “in the fields” and with the representative office of the inhabitants themselves. Residents themselves will be easier to negotiate with each other than with the municipality.
Savings of the city budget.
You can further discuss how to do it better. But it is better to do this not on social networks, where many of us are stating sensiblely, but in fact they can’t say anything. An initiative group was created, I am waiting for an invitation from Olga Kasatkina. We will work so that everyone won from the pedestrian street.
