Against the Information and Analytical Center "Sova" and its director Alexander Verkhovsky, two administrative cases were initiated under Art. 20.33 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (carrying out the activities of an "undesirable organization"). This was reported on the Owls website.
The administrative protocols were drawn up because of the links in the "About us" section to the websites of the former donors of the "Owl": NED and the Soros Foundation, which are included in the register of "undesirable organizations".
“The SOVA Center never hid its donors, and considered linking to their sites to be a simple adherence to network etiquette, since the link only creates the opportunity to get acquainted with the material, but does not directly distribute it. However, in the current situation, the SOVA Center is forced to remove these links, ”the message says.
The Center notes that they consider the cases as a form of pressure and "clearly broad interpretation of the legislation relating to the dissemination of information."
