In Moscow, police checked the markets the day after an unsanctioned rally outside the Myanmar embassy on 3 September. This was reported to The Village by businessman Kurban Darsaev.
He said that his employees were asked if they participated in the rally and if Darsaev himself was there. The police copied the passport details and phone numbers of his company's employees.
The owner of one of the coffee houses also confirmed to the publication that the police were checking the Dorogomilovsky market.
“Yes, the police came, but more for appearances, since basically all market traders are Muslims. Somebody seemed to be taken away,” he said.
