In Chuvashia, the court upheld a fine of 15,000 to a children's doctor for participating in the rally on March 26

The Supreme Court of Chuvashia upheld the decision of the district court regarding pediatrician Olga Kurdelyas. Previously, she was fined 15,000 rubles for participating in a rally on March 26 in Cheboksary. Dmitry Semenov, a member of the Open Russia board, writes about this on Twitter.

In July, the Leninsky District Court of Cheboksary fined Kurdelyas 15,000 rubles for participating in the anti-corruption action on March 26 (Part 5 of Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code). On that day, the activists' cases were heard in court simultaneously, rather than one by one. According to human rights activist Alexei Glukhov, this was done so that public defenders, of whom there are few in Cheboksary, could not provide legal assistance to everyone.

Kurdelyas works as a pediatric neurologist at the Novocheboksary Medical Center.

On March 26, 2017, rallies were held throughout Russia, initiated by the Anti-Corruption Foundation’s investigation into the “secret empire” of Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev. According to various sources, in total, from 32,359 to 92,861 people took part in the protests. About 1,805 people were detained, 1,043 of them in Moscow.
