The American White House decided to stop the program introduced under the previous US President Barack Obama from the immediate deportation of illegal immigrants imported in the United States in childhood (DACA). But before the DACA is officially stopped, the Congress will have six months to decide on the fate of such immigrants.
In an official statement, US President Donald Trump emphasized that his goal is not to punish children (albeit already grown up) for the mistakes of their parents, but to maintain the rule of law in the United States, due to which they become attractive to immigrants.
The DACA program, writes The Economist , began in June 2012. In accordance with it, illegal immigrants were not subject to immediate deportation, who at that time were less than 31 years and who entered the United States under the age of 16. Under the terms of the program, these should be people who are students at a school or university, or graduated from the university. Also, at the time of their registration, their history was carefully checked in the program - on the subject of crimes or signs of a threat to national security.

The program should end on March 5, 2018. Trump promised to stop its action until the end of this period, but at the same time he gave Congress a six -month “window” - the ability to finally decide on the immigration rules until March. In other words, he now offers Congress to accept a similar program, which will no longer be a presidential initiative, but a decision of the legislative power.
The problem is that on this issue, as in many others, the Congress has great contradictions, which makes it difficult to make decisions. For many voters, “dreamers” (as people call people who are distributed by DACA ) caused sympathy. But there are those who occupy a more stringent position regarding immigration.
Demonstrators with posters / pixabay.comPolitico writes that at one time, Obama promised Trump that if he decides to cancel DACA, he would speak with public objections and criticism of Trump personally. After DACA decided to cancel, Obama really issued a public statement, but in it he criticized an exclusively White House for the “wrong”, “to the detriment” of the decision (as well as a congress, which at one time did not make the necessary solutions for immigration), but not Trump. Moreover, everything, to the annoyance of the Democrats, is limited: Obama is not going to arrange rallies or speak out in the media. As in the case of the story of affordable medical insurance (“Obamoprostobi”, Obamacare), it is mostly silent.
It is still incomprehensible, it is noted in another Politico material , whether the Republicans will be able to find a compromise on immigration reform until March. Trump also complicated the task for them, because the congressmen requires not only a revision of the program to protect people who immigrate being children, but also the processing of the Green Cart system, which needs to be transferred to the basis of meritocracy. There is a risk that if the Congress decides only part of the task, then Trump simply does not sign this partial solution.
