In Tatarstan, a deputy pretended to be disabled for nine years to receive a pension

The prosecutor's office of the Republic of Tatarstan accused a deputy of the rural settlement of the Apastovsky district of fraud in receiving social benefits in the amount of about two million rubles. This was reported on the website of the Republican Prosecutor's Office.

According to investigators, in March 2008, the deputy provided the Social Insurance Fund with forged documents indicating partial loss of professional ability to work. Over nine years, he received about 1.8 million rubles from the budget.

On September 6, a criminal case was opened against the deputy for fraud in receiving payments by providing knowingly false and unreliable information on an especially large scale.

After the investigation began, the man admitted his guilt and even compensated for the damage caused.
