In St. Petersburg, new trams came off the rails three times a week

Modern compositions were launched two weeks ago along the old ways that have not changed since the 90s.

On September 10, in the Primorsky district of St. Petersburg, a new tram launched in front of the 2018 Football World Cup came from the rails. The incident became the third in a week. The paths along which the updated trains were launched were replaced only in part, and most of them have not changed since the 90s. The accident happened on the prospectus of the testers, next to the Miller shopping center. Due to the breakdown, the tram movement stopped towards the Pionerskaya metro station. There are no spare tracks for such cases, so the 47th route unfolds on the corner of Sizov Street and Test Avenue and goes back to the Pioneer. According to eyewitnesses, another tram flew over the tram from the paths, it was towed by a separate composition.

A similar incident occurred on September 8, then the trauma came down from roads on air designers. The rails on this site also did not repair for a long time.

On September 3, the new tram came off the rails on Ilyushin Street next to the Komendantsky Prospekt metro. Then the movement stopped in both directions until the end of the repair.

Locals stated in the comments that for them it has already "became the norm." In everything they blame the old ways, since accidents occur precisely in obsolete areas where the rails have not changed “since the 90s” and local officials, too sensitive new trams and “ cups ”.

At the same time, some sections of tracks over the past few years have replaced more than once, stopping the movement of key routes for the duration of work.
