The court placed the person involved in the case of theft during the construction of the presidential residence under house arrest

The Basmanny Court of Moscow has placed businessman Alexander Rodionov under house arrest, who is suspected of embezzling at least 225 million rubles during the construction of the presidential residence in Novo-Ogarevo, . Interfax reports citing the court’s press service

“I support the petition in view of the fact that Rodionov admitted guilt and confessed. In addition, he told the investigation previously unknown facts of the crime,” the investigator said.

The fact that a criminal case had been opened regarding theft during the construction of a residence in Novo-Ogarevo became known in March. The defendants included the former head of the unitary enterprise of the federal security service Ateks Andrei Kaminov, the former general director of the Stroyfasad company Stanislav Kyuner, the director of Stroykomplekt Dmitry Torchinsky, as well as entrepreneurs Andrei Rodionov, Sergei Perevalov and Sergei Litvinov. All of them are under arrest.

It is clarified that the case was previously isolated from the materials of the case of elite alcohol smuggling against St. Petersburg businessman Dmitry Mikhalchenko and his accomplices. The matter was classified. Küner, Perevalov and Torchinsky admitted their guilt and entered into a pre-trial agreement, Rodionov admitted partial guilt. Kaminov and Litvinov do not consider themselves guilty.

At the end of August, the court arrested the director of the Baltstroy company, Dmitry Sergeev, who the day before was sentenced to a suspended sentence in the “restoration case.” Sergeev is accused of creating a criminal community and fraud on an especially large scale during construction at the presidential residence (Part 1 of Article 210 of the Criminal Code, Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code).

Kommersant claimed that Kaminov, Kuehner, Torchinsky and other defendants in the case were part of a criminal community created by Sergeev. The connection between the case of construction at the presidential residence and the arrest of Sergeev was not officially confirmed.
