More and more residents of Buryatia go to work in South Korea. Life there is cheaper than in the region, earnings are more than three to four times, and even local residents treat illegally humanly. The intermediaries, too, do not take three skins, setting them to work for $ 150–180. In South Korea, Russians work mainly in factories, in motels, in the fields, at sea and at construction sites.
A resident of Ulan-Ude 35-year-old Elmira Shimpolova worked as a seller in the store, but at the end of 2014 she fell under the reduction. Attempts to get a new place were unsuccessful. For some time she, the mother of two children, was forced to interrupt with random earnings, but there were not enough for those 15-18 thousand rubles that they paid.
After a year of ordeal, having heard that there is the opportunity to get a job in South Korea with a good salary by Russian standards, Elmira left for Sonnam, 30 kilometers from Seoul. The fact that in a foreign country has to live illegally, then it was not embarrassed.

“The fact that I could earn in Ulan-Ude was not enough to support two children,” says Elmira Shimpolova . - We lived in the suburbs, a lot of money went on the road. Plus loans. My uncle and aunt left for Korea and said that they were paying well there. I knew about this country the little that I managed to get from films and the Internet, but I had long dreamed of visiting it. I had neither a passport nor money, but I made a decision, and soon everything somehow turned out by itself: I made a passport, and the money was found. It was very difficult to leave children. The eldest daughter is 10 years old, her son was 7. She comforted herself that I was leaving to work precisely for them. She left them with her mother and younger brother, rented an apartment in the center, so that it was more convenient to get to school.
The attitude towards migrant workers among Koreans is better than among Russians. To encounter neglect is a rarity
With employment in Korea, everything is not so simple. Russians here work in factories, in motels, in the fields, at sea, at construction sites. The construction of our guys is taken especially willingly, since it is believed that they are physically strong. In general, it is precisely the working hands that qualified specialists from Russia will hardly find work in Korea by profession. The attitude towards migrant workers among Koreans is better than among Russians. Faced with neglect is a rarity. I also noticed that the locals literally idealize the Americans, they want to live like them. They even have American sports hobbies: golf, baseball.
The dream of many is to send a child to the United States or Europe to study so that he is fixed there ... For four months, until I find a normal place, I had to interrupt seasonal earnings. In the summer, their heat begins, many factories have a rest for weeks, and the only job is on plantations. But I understood that I could not withstand for a long time under the scorching sun. Fortunately, the work of the maid in the motel turned up. Only in September they began to pay me normally - in transfer to rubles one hundred thousand. Most of it sent home. In April last year, the brother graduated from the school and came to me in Korea. He dreamed of finding a job here, said that it was impossible to get a job in Buryatia - I want to help you pay a loan as soon as possible, mother to buy a site, build a house. In general, the children stayed with their mother. The brother worked in the laundry, at the furniture factory, for some time he tucked beds in the motel. In Korea, only men are taken for this work, since the beds are huge and sheets need to be pulled so that there is no fold. Then we were informed that our mother had died. Sasha remained, and I went to organize a funeral, - recalls Elmira.
Soon, the news came from Seoul that Alexander was beaten. Passers -by delivered a guy to one of the private clinics. After some time, Elmira managed to only approximately restore the events of that night.

-On July 23, with his friend Andrei from Ulan-Ude, Sasha was in the Russian-speaking area of Seoul,-talking about this, she still unable to restrain her tears. - The guys stopped at the motel, as they had to go south of Korea, but were late for the bus. In this area they met a common acquaintance, apparently noted a meeting. Then Andrei returned to the motel, and Sasha and the acquaintance met still countrymen. Between them there was a brawl. Sasha’s friend was beaten in the body, and he himself was on the head. Then someone frightened the attackers. Sasha ran into the alley. There he felt ill. Then, the police installed on the video cameras how my brother walked, swaying, crouched, grabbed his head and fell. In the hospital, he was diagnosed with hemorrhage in the brain.
When Sasha was gone, we wanted to take the body, but we were told that until we pay $ 100 thousand, they will not give it to us
After the first operation, he began cramps, he was introduced into the medication. Then two more operations were carried out. But he never came to consciousness and died exactly a month later. The brother, of course, did not have medical insurance, he worked illegally. Every day in the hospital cost almost a hundred thousand rubles, not counting these operations. When Sasha was gone, we wanted to take the body, but we were told that until we pay 100 thousand dollars, they would not give it to us. I offended the thresholds of the Foreign Ministry, the Korean consulate, asked me to be released to my brother, but everything was to no avail, because I broke the visa regime. The case moved from the dead point when I came to the Commissioner for Human Rights of Buryatia. The embassy managed to agree with the clinic on a 99% discount. And we took Sasha. It was too expensive to take the body, it would cost almost half a million rubles. So they decided to cremate it, and the ashes were dispelled already in Buryatia.
How many illegal immigrants from Buryatia, escaping from unemployment, work today in South Korea, no one knows. But the crisis hit the republic’s economy rather strictly: local employers owed more than 60 million rubles to employees. In 2014, the once successful Baikalfarm liquor plant closed, which provided about 2000 people throughout Russia, of which about 600 in Buryatia. Baikalbank went bankrupt after him - this is about 900 jobs. In the deepest crisis were the former giants of Ulan-Udestalmost and Milk of Buryatia. On the VKontakte social network there are several numerous groups today, the creators of which offer paid intermediary employment services in Korea.
Nevertheless, Buryatstat reported that the average nominal salary accrued in May 2017 to employees of Ulan-Ude enterprises amounted to about 36 thousand rubles. From the previous month, the May salary increased by 1.2%, and from May 2016 - by 2.4%.

A resident of Ulan-Ude Oksana Chernyaeva is sincerely surprised by official statistics:
- Where, interestingly, you can earn 36 thousand?! The only thing we can offer is the work of sellers, waiters or guards for 15 thousand. When electricity, by the way, is more expensive than in other regions, and it is generally better to keep silent about products! To gather children to school, you need about 30 thousand. Where does the population get money with such salaries?

Despite all the difficulties and risks associated with the status of illegal status, not only young people go to Korea from Buryatia. In December last year, 51-year-old Ekaterina Baldanova got into the Korean clinic-right at the workplace she had a stroke.
“The translator called, told us that the operation is very expensive, it costs 2 million rubles,” said Yekaterina's daughter Nadezhda Zhabaeva . - Of course, we agreed to her. And my younger sister immediately flew to Korea.
The amount for treatment grew every day. Relatives turned to friends for help, took a loan. Soon they managed to agree with the hospital and take the woman home. The family has not yet been able to repay the whole debt.

Residents of other Siberian regions are also looking for work in Korea. The 26-year-old Krasnoyarsk Maxim, who worked as a project manager, was relatively safe in his homeland. He went abroad, hoping to fulfill his dream - to earn a house for the family.
“I have a wife and a child in Krasnoyarsk,” says Maxim. - The salary was 30-40 thousand rubles. In Korea, I am a simple builder. Beginners here are paid a little more than five thousand rubles a day. Those who work more, earnings reaches 12 thousand. In Russia, I will be accumulated at the house that I want, 5–7 years old, here I will earn it for it in 2-3 years. He arrived in Korea himself, he himself found work through the public "VKontakte". I was lucky - I immediately turned up what I wanted. I rode purposefully to work on alpomes - this is the type of frame for the construction of high -rise buildings. They are from aluminum, hence the name. My duties include assembly, disassembly, lifting to the floor. The work is heavy, requiring dexterity and endurance, but I perceive it as an adventure, the more they pay well.

Another girl from Buryatia, who lives in Korea for almost three years and is ready to stay there, agreed to share her experience, without naming the real name. She has two higher educations, she herself originally from Buryatia, she worked in Krasnoyarsk as a personnel manager in the field of forest production.
“I had a turning point in my life, I decided to change something, well, the loans-where without them,” the girl says. - The sister advised to go to Korea - in Buryatia, this trend just began to gain momentum. Well, why not? So I went there to work. I found on the Internet an intermediary who offered work in the fields. It was a shock for me. Literally one day was enough to understand: this is not for me. I arrived in late autumn, they already had snow, it was cold. And I'm not used to working in the field. I didn’t even plant potatoes at home. And there it was necessary to work 12 hours, for me it is unbearable. In the morning I could not get up, my whole body hurt. Then I found another intermediary, got a job for a new job. Today I rent an apartment where there is everything you need: a refrigerator, a bed, a TV, a telephone, a cabinet, a stove, a kettle, a machine, air conditioning, high -speed Internet. It costs about 17 thousand rubles. All inclusive. If I had a legal status, I would only go home on vacation. Our country lagged behind civilization, and this manifests itself in everything. For example, I really like how they have a public transport system. I get on the bus and pay for a transport card. At the entrance and output, it is applied to a special monitor, and the system itself decides how much to calculate from you. If you sit in another transport within 30 minutes, even in the subway, they won’t take money from you. It is believed that you have already paid for the trip, not like we have - just to rip off! Everything is here for their people. Everywhere there is a free wi-fi. High -speed trains drive. In simple stores, you can eat inexpensively, there are coolers with free water around.
The girl works in Korea at a car factory. Wipes the bolts, puts them in boxes, and boxes in pallets.
I managed to get a good job in a year and a half, already without any intermediaries
- You have no idea how heavy the boxes with iron can be! Labor is not easy, but here I realized what it means to live in comfort, what is it when power can and wants to create conditions for its citizens, ”she is convinced. - Here I like everything, only longing for the family. Parents and brother are waiting for at home, I help them, send about 70 thousand, I leave myself about 15, this is enough. Housing and food are provided by the employer. I spend only on personal hygiene items and sometimes I will buy something delicious for myself. I managed to get a good job in a year and a half, already without any intermediaries. With knowledge of language and hard work in Korea, it is impossible to get lost.
With medical services, the girl assures, there are no special problems, even for illegal.
In Korea, it is allowed to treat others in their insurance
- Medicine is not a problem if you pay. And so, the boss in his insurance can take us to the hospital. I spent me once to the dentist. In Korea, by the way, it is allowed to treat others in their insurance. Serious injury is paid from 150 thousand to 300 thousand rubles - for example, if the finger has lost. Koreans are a fair people, ”she claims. - I had such a case: I bought bread in the store. He came home, and he was mold. There was no time to return to the store. I go in a week in a week, and they ask: did you take bread? I say, yes, but he was mold. And they gave me new bread. They track everything by video cameras and are always afraid for their reputation. I can say one thing: Korea is not a place for lazy people and physically weak people. And not for the cheeky ones. Alcohol here costs a penny, and the consequences can be deplorable.
