On September 12, Apple introduced new iPhones - iPhone 8 and (in honor of the decade of the first model output) iPhone X. Medusa journalist Sultan Suleimanov visited Cupertino at the presentation and tells the main thing that you need to know about Apple's new products.

iPhone x - frameless and wireless

The main event of the presentation is the announcement of the iPhone X (this is not “X”, but “ten”), a new model with a screen that occupies almost the entire front panel of the phone. Almost - because at the top of the screen there was a small strip with sensors.

There is no “home” button in the iPhone X; The functions that she performed were transferred to other controls. To open the home screen, you need to run a finger from the lower edge up; To call siri - clamp the side button.

The interface in the iPhone X is not just like in other iPhones. The battery charge, the quality of connection to the network and the date are displayed on the left and to the right of the strip with sensors; To open the control panel, where, for example, the brightness buttons are hidden, you need to pull your finger from the right upper angle of the screen; If you pull your finger from the middle, another panel will open - with notifications and widgets.

Photos and videos open on the iPhone X are trying to take the entire area of the screen - therefore, part of the image is behind the same panel with sensors. In the case of the video, you can click on the screen twice so that a black frame appears around the image, and the panel does not interfere.

In the iPhone X glass of glass (Apple promises that from a very durable; the Medusa correspondent did not dare to drop it during a short demonstration), the 5.8-inch Super Retina support with HDR support, a body and a double rear chamber protected from moisture and dust. Unlike the iPhone 7 Plus (and the new iPhone 8 Plus), the cameras in the iPhone X are located vertically.

The new iPhone is equipped with the A11 Bionic processor (even faster than before) with a neural system designed to work with machine learning algorithms. The phone supports wireless charging. It will be available in two colors: silver and “gray space”.

Face ID - unlock iPhone x face

Touch ID, which allowed to unlock the iPhone with the touch of the finger to the "home" button, disappeared with the button itself. Face ID came to his place - the user's face recognition system. The iPhone X is unlocked when the owner looks at the screen. Apple claims that this is a very reliable system that cannot be deceived by a photograph or mask of the owner. At the same time, it should not react either to a change in hairstyle or glasses.

Face ID does not always work: during the demonstration of the function there were several cases when the phone did not recognize its owner (for example, if several people looked at the screen at once). In this case, the iPhone can still be unlocked by introducing a pin code.

As one of the employees of Apple explained to the Medusa correspondent, Face ID will replace Touch ID in third -party applications: if they built the support of the fingerprint sensor (for example, a password manager is unlocked), then to support the facial recognition, it will be necessary to correct the interface - so that instead of “pressing your finger” it was displayed "Look at the screen."

Face ID works even in the dark: not only a regular camera is hidden in the panel in the upper part of the screen, but also a point of points and an infrared camera.

Animoji and new portrait regime

The IPhone X front camera can capture a person’s face movement and broadcast it to Emoji - you get Animoji. These are 3D models of emoji with faces (there are few of them: panda, fox, hare, poop and several more), which can smile, frown, sad and rotate with their eyes. Animoji can be sent to a friend through Imessage - and he will receive a poop that speaks in your voice and, for example, shows with all his appearance that she is sad.

Apple also improved the portrait mode, which allows you to erode the background in photographs taken on a double -chamber phones model. In the iPhone X and iPhone 8 Plus, artificial intelligence knows how to change the lighting parameters of the picture along one of the “studio” templates - to draw on the face a kind of contour light or completely darken the background. In the case of the iPhone X, this also works with the front camera.

iPhone 8 - improved 7 with wireless charging

In addition to the iPhone X, Apple showed the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus - improved versions of the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. The iPhone 8 has an aluminum case with a glass rear panel (silver, gold and dark gray color are available), a camera that shoots a 4K video at a speed of 60 frames per second, the A11 Bionic processor and wireless charging. The IPhone 8 Plus double chamber supports a new portrait mode from the previous point.

Apple Watch Series 3 - with LTE

Together with iPhones, Apple updated the smart watch Apple Watch. The main innovation of the third version of hours is the support of cellular networks, thanks to which the user will be able to call, lay routes on the maps and listen to music in Apple Music, even if he forgot the phone at home.

For a clock, you don’t have to buy a separate SIM card: Apple, who showed the watch, the Medusa correspondent, explained that they built a small ESIM map, which “picks up” the IPhone network. The watch will have the same phone number, and the operators most likely will take a small surcharge for using an additional device, and not force customers to replenish another balance.

Apple has so far agreed with operators in only 10 countries - in the rest (including Russia), the Apple Watch Series 3 will be sold in version without LTE support.

Outwardly, the Apple Watch Series 3 looks the same as Series 2. But on the wheel there is a red point.

iPhone X will go on sale on November 3. The minimum price in Russia is 79990 rubles.
