Buzzfeed: Moscow offered Trump a plan for a complete normalization of relations

A few months after the US President Donald Trump, Moscow, offered him a plan for a complete normalization of relations. It is reported by Buzzfeed.

In the spring, the document was submitted to the State Department one of the Russian diplomats. The plan provided for the complete restoration of diplomatic and military communication channels, as well as the exchange of data between intelligence services.

The Kremlin urged until April 2017 a meeting of the special representative of the Russian President for Cybersecurity Andrei Krutsky with the American side. It was also proposed to hold consultations on Afghanistan, a nuclear deal with Iran, a crisis around Ukraine and the DPRK. After that, according to the plan, meetings of the Heads of the CIA, the FBI, the Pentagon, the US National Security Council with colleagues from Russia were to be held.

Thus, by the time of the personal meeting of Vladimir Putin and Trump, according to this plan, the substantial agenda was supposed to be formulated.

According to the publication, Moscow, when developing the plan, proceeded from the assumption that “Trump would not share the US pricing anger” due to Russian intervention in the presidential company and is ready to go to “lightning fast rapprochement”. According to the former American intelligence officer, Angel Stent, the authors of the document "simply ignored everything that made the relationship deteriorated, and pretended that interference in the elections and crisis in Ukraine never took place."

In reality, out of several dozen meetings proposed by Moscow, only a few took place.

The White House and the State Department refused to say who transferred the document, but did not deny its authenticity. At the same time, officials noted that they never made it clear to the Russian representatives that this plan was implemented.

At the beginning of the presidential term, Trump Moscow hoped that he would go to improve Russian-American relations. Even before taking office, Trump announced the desire to "achieve a couple of good deals with Russia." However, the tension between the countries only increased. On August 2, Trump signed the sanctions law adopted by Congress . After that, Russian prime minister Dmitry Medvedev admitted that the hope of improving relations with the United States came to an end .
