In the capital, the driver of the Butyrsky farm Cossack society Oleg Pestov was detained, who shot at the 59-year-old deputy ataman of the military Cossack Central Society Andrei Shustrov, a source in law enforcement agencies told the Moscow agency.
“On the evening of September 12, the police received a report of a gunshot wound. It is known that a Cossack from the Central Cossack Army, while intoxicated, fired an Izh70-9T traumatic pistol at his colleague from the army. The shooter was detained,” the agency’s source said.
According to the source, the incident occurred in the building of the Cossack organization at 49A Mira Avenue. An inspection is underway.
Earlier, the Mash telegram channel wrote that the ataman suspected his subordinate of drinking alcohol, and he “fired a volley in response from the most powerful caliber that is allowed to be carried.”
On August 10, 2017, RIA Novosti published a note about how the publication’s correspondent spent the day with the Cossack Pestov. “Any man over 18, Orthodox, who shares the ideas of the Cossacks can join the registered Cossack society. Many come and say that they want to benefit society, and not just lie on the couch and drink beer,” he said.
The material talked about regular training in shooting weapons and how Cossacks patrol VDNKh in search of drunks. While on duty, accompanied by an agency correspondent, the Cossacks drew up three administrative reports for alcohol consumption.
